New for ‘87, the GTA was the ultimate Firebird. Pontiac’s stylists dressed it in a sleek, cleanly detailed body that featured a smooth front fascia, a wrap-around rear spoiler, and aero skirts around the bottom edge of the car. Other features included monochromatic exterior paint and subtle GTA badging on the front fenders. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnder the hood was a 5.7-liter (350 cubic-inch) V-8 engine topped off with tuned-port fuel injection. It was good for 210 horsepower, along with 315 lb-ft of torque. Other performance hardware included Pontiac’s legendary WS6 handling package and 16-inch diamond-spoke alloy wheels.
